I am a FCA Field Ambassador serving the Poweshiek County schools and Grinnell College. I started with FCA in August of 2019 and work out of the South-Central Iowa FCA area. I serve coaches and athletes in the BGM, HLV, Montezuma and Grinnell high schools and Grinnell College. I oversee the huddle leaders in the schools, lead coaches’ huddles and send devotions out to coaches. I am married to Angie and our family consists of four adult children their spouses and eight grandchildren.

I have recently retired from a career in education and coaching that spanned 39 years. I have coached at all levels and in a variety of sports over those years. It is through this passion for coaching and athletics, and love for God, that I hope to provide the resources for coaches and athletes to strengthen their journey with God. 


My journey with God took many turns as I was younger. I learned through my experiences that God is always calling you back. It was when I made the decision to return to God that my personal and professional lives started to thrive. I learned that when things are the worst is when you need to turn to God and learn to trust Him with your life. 


I am working hard to develop relationships in the schools and college in Poweshiek county. My goal is to share my life journey with God and coaching experiences in order to develop more God-centered coaches. My vision is to begin to see sports redeemed through the work of solid, sold-out Christian coaches that have something to offer their athletes. They will be able to coach with purpose and destiny. Their spiritual impact will be felt on their team, campus and community.


One of my favorite verses is: Jeremiah 29:11


“For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.


Jesus thank you for the journey you have me on. Help me to completely trust You and praise You during this process. Strengthen me when I get weary. I pray that I continue to follow you and bring you glory. Use me so others may know you. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen
